"This October is the Seventh Anniversary of Matt Kennedy‘s World Famous COASTER SHOW!  What started at La Luz de Jesus Gallery as an emergency replacement for a last minute cancellation has blossomed into the show that launched a thousand careers, and for the second year we’ll be hosting it at Gallery 30 South.

This annual event gathers hundreds of unique pieces of artwork by hundreds of individual artists, many of whom are making their gallery debut. By placing their work alphabetically and side-by-side with established artists, the egalitarian presentation imbues each piece with an equal opportunity for discovery and acquisition. The maximum possible price of $250 for an individual coaster (with many priced between $25 and $50) and several FREE coasters, allows those with a limited acquisition budget to become legitimate patrons of the arts and even deep collectors without compromising taste, integrity or lifestyle.

We allow patrons to purchase full sets of any artist’s coasters during our pre-opening preview term, and when the show opens on Friday, October 4th, we encourage collectors to mix-and-match or buy individual pieces.

This year we will feature hundreds of new, unique, artisanal coasters, and there’s an original Mark Ryden Coaster–not a printed piece, but a hand-painted, original artwork, among them!"

Cocktail glasses I designed for "Bruce's Lodge"- new colorway to be released

Bruce's Lodge was a hot spot for eating and meeting in Fresno from the 1950's through the 1970's- these glasses carry on the tradition of comradery that Ricco and Rocco Bruce were well known for. So honored to have been requested to design these special Bruce's Lodge cocktail glasses 2 years ago and have just turned in a brand new colorway. [to be revealed soon] Only the new colorway will be available at the upcoming Tiki Oasis in Arizona, April 12th-14th

"INTERPLANETARY PORTAL"

"La Luz De Jesus Gallery proudly presents our annual juried group exhibition, LALUZAPALOOZA. This gigantic, no-theme show features works from some of the freshest and most relevant artists working today. Again we sorted through tens of thousands of submissions from commercial illustrators, graphic designers, tattooists, scenics, students, street taggers, animators and working gallery artists.  How many will we show this year? There are  140+ pieces from 70 or so artists, continuing the tradition of the most exclusive selection of tastefully, jam-packed, salon-style exhibited works in Post-Pop. There are some familiar names from our ever-growing roster of feature artists, alongside a promising batch of previously undiscovered, emerging talent."

"Charcuterie and Cheese Group Exhibition  La Luz De Jesus Gallery is pleased to present Charcuterie and Cheez, a group exhibition featuring the work of Ashley Bevington, Michelle Bickford, Don Pablo Pedro, and Ian Ferguson. In this exhibition, each artist appropriates a definitive language of style derived from their own life experiences. The broad spectrum of technique displayed collectively creates an integral can’t-have-one-without-the-other effect; It’s pretty much nuts, cheese, the ham, and the jam."

"Intergalactic Passport"- a glimpse into the future
"If you often pause to wonder what the future might hold for us, then this collection from Michelle Bickford presents some possibilities. By being exposed to the marvels of space-age engineering and Mid-Century Modern architecture, Michelle’s art conjures up images of a bygone era that never fully came to fruition. From paint to frame, Michelle tells a story that comes from the heart. No matter how large or small, each piece is meticulously crafted to further tell her tale."

"Having grown up with science fiction as bedtime stories, I pull from the thrilling sense of surprise and create worlds of my very own. I want to take the viewer on a journey of the unexpected. Each piece could be it's own cover of the story waiting to be revealed within."
