New pieces for the 4th Annual Coaster Show that opens this Friday, September 2nd 2016

Click here to see coasters closeup.

September 2 – October 2, 2016
Opening Reception: Friday, Sept. 2nd, 8-11 PM
Closing Party: Sunday, Oct. 2nd, noon-six PM

"It’s hard to believe this year is already the fourth annual installment of the La Luz de Jesus Coaster Show! What started as a last minute substitution has grown into a legitimate institution–one of the most anticipated events of the LA Art Scene.

We’ve all done it. We’ve sat at the bar, drinking a beer and doodled on a coaster.

But most of us aren’t the extremely skilled painters, illustrators, animators, tattooists, sculptors or collage artists that are featured in this exhibition that takes a love of craft brewing and elevates it to high art.

We produced a custom canvas for some of our favorite gallery folks to do what they do best, and transform a 4″ tondo coaster into museum worthy exhibition pieces.

In the past three years, we’ve dotted our walls with tiny masterpieces, and we’re expecting another 1000 or so pieces this time around!
Each coaster is a solitary work priced $250 or less.

Patron’s with a purchase history get the option to buy early–so contact the director for details. Single coaster sales will be open to the general public on opening night."

Via Tiki Farm:

"Rub For Rum" decanter with flame top
“Rub For Rum” is our first ever collaboration with renowned artist Michelle Bickford! Originally released as an ultra-low run in black satin and gold for our 15th Anniversary celebration and month long gallery run at La Luz de Jesus Gallery, our online version is glazed in classic jungle “Tiki” green with Michelle’s classic mid-century art panel in natural, wrapping around the perimeter. The 4 Tiki Gods featured on the perimeter against a lava rock inspired backdrop are stylized Easter Island Moai. Completing the piece is a flame topped cork insert. This is an impressive piece with a total height of nearly 13” to the top of the flame cork topper. Our Rub For Rum decanter holds a very impressive 42 ounces and it’s intended to be used to hold enough liquid so that you can mix-up your drink of choice for you and your friends and dispense at your leisure!
